No one would have believed that the Hamas terrorist organization has so many supporters around the world. It seems totally incredible to me that so many people with unflawed morality and good intentions around the world fall for the blood-dripping propaganda of Hamas.
It seems that, indeed, lies if told enough times, become even more convincing than truth itself.
It is easy to feel empathy towards the wrong side, when you are constantly being bombarded through the mass media, with horror images and heart breaking stories of civilian sufferers. War, is, indeed a horrible thing that causes many innocent people immeasurable pain and sorrow. Yet, when one makes up his mind about such events, he should not let the well orchestrated propaganda attacks obscure his own perception of the sheer facts.
For those of you who have been misled by Hamas lies, I would humbly try to point out, very briefly, some facts about Israel's defensive war against Hamas's ongoing aggression towards Israel's civilian population.
1. Israel has no interest what so ever in the Gaza strip. As you probably know well, Israel, on its own initiative, and under no external pressure, disengaged itself from Gaza. About two years ago, Israel willingly evacuated its settlements and army forces from the entire Gaza strip, leaving the Palestinians in Gaza totally free to conduct their lives they way the choose to.
2. The Hamas terrorist organization, heavily financed by terrorist supporting regimes in the area, took advantage of the very young Palestinian democracy, and performed a mutiny, overthrowing the legally elected Palestinian president, Mahmud Abbas, who fled to Ramalla, outside the Gaza strip, and far for the reach of Hamas assassins.
3. From the first moment Hamas took over the Gaza strip, democracy in Gaza was terminated and replaced by a terrorist dictatorship. Hamas upholds its totalitarian reign with a deadly iron fist: arresting, beating, torturing, injuring and killing suspected political activists in Gaza. Many Fattah (The organization of president Abbas) members in Gaza, along with their families, were murdered by Hamas armed forces, and only a few of them managed to escape the Gaza strip.
4. Ever since Hamas came to power In the Gaza strip, they have been trying to provoke Israel into war with them. Thousands of rockets were fired from the Gaza strip to peaceful civilian cities and villages in Israel. Those brutal acts of aggression were totally unprovoked by Israel. As I mentioned before, Israel was willing and ready to live peacefully alongside its Palestinian neighbors in the Gaza strip. But Hamas leaders had other plans in their minds. Contrary to the clear interest of their own people, Hamas chose to put tremendous amount of money and efforts into turning the Gaza strip into a one huge storeroom of rockets and armaments of other kinds.
